Alex Hohmann is one of our Age Group coaches. She was a competitive swimmer for 12 years, swam on North Jersey Bluestreaks (NJBL), Wayne Valley high school, and her summer league, Wayne Waves.  Wayne Waves was the place where her passion for swimming started. Alex started coaching for a summer league, Pines Lake in 2021, and loved it so much that she started coaching at her old club team NJBL in 2022. She has also volunteered for a Special Education Swim Team called Team Hope in 2022. She came to CAT in April 2024.

Alex loves working with children and plans to do that with her career, as she is studying at Montclair State University for her Bachleors in Elementary Education. She plans to get her Masters in Special Education. Coaching swimming is a passion for her, as it combines a love for the sport with the rewarding experience of helping swimmers achieve their goals. She enjoys guiding swimmers of all ages and skill levels and teaching them the techniques and discipline needed to excel and be proud of themselves. Watching swimmers grow, improve, and gain confidence in the water is incredibly fulfilling, as is witnessing their joy in reaching personal milestones and setting new records. For her, the pool is more than just a training space— it is a place where hard work, dedication, and encouragement help foster a lifelong love for swimming.

Alex does not just teach you to grow as a swimmer, but to grow as a person. She teaches you to be confident and proud of what you have accomplished so far. She goes into each practice with a positive attitude, to keep the kids having a positive attitude, while working hard but also having a good time.
