Coach Denise trains the Silver Team.

Denise started coaching for CAT in 2007. Previously, she coached all levels of the Hunterdon County YMCA Swim Team. While with HCY, she trained swimmers in States, East Fields and Nationals; headed up the Little Sting Ray program; and developed high school swim clinics and a weight training program. Denise currently serves as the Athletic Director at St. Elizabeth School, a K – 8 Catholic School in Bernardsville, where she also coaches the track team. She started the Fells Brook Summer Swim team in 2004. In 2019 the team swam to win the TCAA Suburban Division Championships.

Denise thrives on the opportunity and constant challenge involved in developing the fun and energetic Silver Team swimmers’ foundation for competitive swimming.  Swimmers in this group have achieved 8 & Under Mini Champs top 3, JO top16 and qualified for zones, all while developing a love for swimming. Denise likes to ask the 10 & unders who make the Junior Olympics or Zones cut, "Where were you swimming last year?" After some thought, swimmers always realize what great strides they’ve made in one short year moving from bronze/silver swimming to swimming in the Junior Olympics alongside the best swimmers in the state.

One of Denise’s earliest swimming memories is swimming in the 6 & under races for her local summer swim team. Her coach said she could swim her race (100 foot distance) without a breath … so she did!

Denise holds a BS in Health and Physical Education from Montclair State University. While swimming for MSU, Coach Denise was an EAIAW Finalist and National level swimmer. She still holds the MSU school record for the 200 Fly.
